Stress and Studying

The Department of Government Examinations has announced the schedule for the 2008 board examinations for Class X and XII. And with the announcement comes a whole barrage of anxiety and extra tuitions for students.
The beginning of the year brings students closer to final exams and revision exams and for some the ‘all important’ board exams.
While it is a necessary exam at a crucial time, teachers and parents should remember not to overwhelm the children by making board exams loom large in their minds. It is not uncommon for even the brightest student to succumb to pressure closer to the date.
While teachers and parents should encourage the students to study and help them where they need it, they should keep in mind the students’ limitations and their anxiety levels.

Exam schedule:
Higher Secondary board examinations for Class XII: March 3 and 24

The Secondary School Leaving Certificate board examination for Class X: March 27 to April 10

Matriculation, Anglo Indian and Oriental School Leaving Certificate board examinations: March 25 to April 10.

Average: 3.1 (20 votes)
