PapyrusClubs aids self-discovery
"You cannot teach a man anything. You can only help him discover it within himself." - Galileo
'Discovery Camp' another add on success organised by PapyrusClubs was completely based on self learning and as the name suggests discovery. A five day camp was held in the month of April-May, where children belonging to age group of 6-13 years enrolled themselves. Nearly hundred students registered. The motive of this camp was to help children understand the concept of self learning, discovery and creativity through various activities. The 5 day camp had ten interesting and exciting activities, they were; The Detective Club, Robotics Club, Dramatics Club, T–20 Club, Photography Club, Debating Club, Mechano Club, Adventure Club, Music Club and a visit to a Factory.
The motive of self learning was applied to all the ten activities and the children came out with very vibrant and creative ideas.
More value was added when experts from each field watched and gave positive feed back to all the children. Prem Kumar. S, music director of the film Saathanai and Hungama in Dubai, watched the children’s melodious performance whereas Vinod a well known photographer added value to Photography Club by his presence and feedback and Anand Chonat theatre artist, renowned director and also the founder of ‘Indian School of Drama’ (Chennai) gave feedback to kids on the play they had put up after the performance. Mr. T.V Ranga Rao a fitness expert took care of the Adventure club. At the end of the 5 days this is what the children had to say-
‘What I like about this camp is, we learn by ourselves, teachers don’t teach us. Maximum learning minimum teaching! The camp makes me learn about myself.’
PapyrusClubs successfully has launched another programme for knowledge enhancement.
