On the last week of June, the whole school eagerly awaited the literary meet with great curiosity of what different programs the students were to perform. The chief guest was Mrs.Aruna Marthandam. The teachers and all the staff wanted to see their students’ talent exhibited in front of the whole audience. The meet fabulously started with the speech from our beloved correspondent addressing the chief guest which was followed by honouring the chief guest.After that the real program started.The program started fabulously with the welcome dance in which the students came out with their beautiful dancing talents in colorful costumes and appealing dance steps. Then followed the soothing prayer song from the choir students of st.john’s. Next was a play from English department. It was a play explaining the importance of conversing in English in a very competitive modern world akin to ours. But unfortunately it started raining in the middle of the play. We thought the much awaited program would be postponed due to rain. But nothing would stop us! To continue was the intention of the students and luckily the rain stopped. Cell phones- A Blessing or a Curse ?

The tech-savvy youngsters of the modern world consider having an electrical gadget like a cell phone or an I-pod as a basic necessity in the day-to-day life. In Chennai, when the government banned the use of cell phones inside the campus, the students had a very bad opinion on the new rule. But is the cell phone a blessing or a curse? They are at sometimes very useful but at the same time is also a real nuisance at times. is it really like that? let's find out. The school managements feel that it is not essential for a student to have cell phones to keep the parents informed about their ward’s condition as the managements have installed phones inside the school campus so that the students can have an access to their parents during the breaks and lunch.more...

Hi there pals 'n' gals! Many among us aim to the stars in life. Literally speaking, man did reach to the stars i.e, space. Man has gone to space several times. But the ultimate goal is to have a permanent research lab in space. Russians succeeded in establishing a space station named Mir. Due to financial and economical difficulties, this station was later manually plunged in to the Pacific . Now NASA in collaboration with other countries has started the initiative for another space station - The ISS. The International Space Station (ISS) is a research facility being assembled in space. Its on-orbit assembly began in 1998. The space station is in a low Earth orbit and can be seen from Earth with the naked eye: it has an altitude of about 350 km (217 mi) above the surface of the Earth, and travels at an average speed of 27,700 km (17,210 statute miles) per hour, completing 15.77 orbits per day.more...
