Does Slumdog Millionaire really deserve the Oscars?

"Slumdog Millionaire"....we have heard it, seen it. Just about every aspect of this film deserves merit. But when this merit happens to be the Oscars, it definitely fuels a discussion.

BY NO MEANS!!!

First of all it did not even have a good storyline. A R Rahman deserved an oscar no doubt.this only shows that only English movies which show India as a poor and corrupt nation gets an Oscar. But movies which showed India in good light and which were in hindi like TZP,RDB,Mother India, lagaan n many others never got one.this is not fair..

slumdog

it surely does not deserve the oscars....there are many more movies and specially in this movie they are showing the slums of the country and this will have a bad effect on the people...so the people will think bad about the country......slumdog was not deserving to get the great oscar award....

NO WAY...!!!!

I really don't think slumdog needed attention thta it got.
Agreed, that it is a wonderful film and the music given by AR Rahman in the movie isjust superb but, somewhere it feels like we Indians have been taken for a royal ride.
What I mean to say is that even "Lagaan" went to the oscars and it had a very good chance of winning atleast two of them but the Lagaan team came back empty handed. In my opinion slumdog got more recogonition because it was not directed by an Indian.
Besides, the movie potrays the whole of the Indian soceity as a slum.....

i think so slumdog

Slumdog millionaire is very exciting film. It shows the slum areas clearly. Atleast b seeing these type of films the has to change.A.R.REHAMAN had given great music which has brought him two oscars. Now he has become world famous. The heroine of the film Prida pinto has also became famous as an hollywood star and participating in some miss universe competions. Hollywood directors can make movies on indians wh can't bollwood directors taking this sportivness danney boyle happened to prepare this film to show that indians are not less in any asspect. He just showe that a slum area boy becomes an millionarie by participating in an competion. The concept and picturisation was too good.

slumdog millionaire

yes,
because in this flim we can gain some knowladge and its shows that india need to development and under privilage to how the people behave to the poor with no respect for the poor .educated people says that illittrate have no knowladge
in this flim its prove that they have experience their life in slum area and one more reason is A .R .REHMAN music mind blowing hit if the music is good and movie story is good its need to decive the oscar award ............!
thank you

did SLUMDOG deserve an oscar?

The way in which the director Danny Boyle has portrayed India is ridiculous and being Indians how can we laud such a film. Everywhere corruption exists. Instead Taare Zameen Par deserved an Oscar. It was fantastic film. WE SHOULD NEVER APPRECIATE SUCH A FILM.

no...

well.... Slumdog managed 2 receive an honour just because it was a british production. Its a good movie but does not deserve to get an oscar. We Indian have released many classic movies which didnt even get the honour it actually deserved!

Not at all!!!

A film which shows india is in pathetic condition has got so many oscars...While Movies that shows indians as powerful people(like lagaan, chak de)goes unnoticed among the international audience!!!
