A CLASH OF COLOURS By Kaamini - Std IX28/01/2008 Colors add spice to our life. Westerners admire our colorful dresses, Kollams and our colorful sceneries. Kolam is a part and parcel of our life. Any function or festival is not complete without the colorful Kollams inviting a person to that function or festival Kollams are there as a traditional form or it can be said to be a ritual in itself.
Our school had a Kollam competition as part of our Pongal celebrations on the 12th of January. All the students from the tiny toys of Std 1st to the seniors of std 10th participated in the competition.

PONGALO PONGAL CELEBRATIONS By Kaamini - Std IX28/01/2008 Pongal is the harvest festival of Tamilnadu. The people celebrate the festival with great joy and enthusiasm. It is celebrated mostly in the villages as they thank the sun God the cattle who helped the farmers throughout the year.
It’s a four day festival. Bhogi is the last day of the Tamil month Margali. On that day the houses are cleaned and all the waste are thrown away. Pongal and Mattu Pongal are celebrated on the 1st and 2nd days of Tamil month Thai.

MY SCHOOL By vanitha04/02/2008 Our school’s name is A.P.G Matriculation School. Our principal’s name is Mr.Vidhyasankar. Our vice principal is Ms. RenukaLakshmi. Our correspondents areDr.Subramaniam and Dr. Rani Subramaniam. Mr.T. Dharmarajan was our honorary Advisor. The classes are from Pre.K.G to X std. We have a big play ground for both lower and higher sections. There are many extra curricular activities conducted regularly. A lot of us participate in all the competitions. BRINGING LAURELS………….. By Sumitha - Std VIII & Koushikan - Std VII04/02/2008 Our school students two of them studying in VIII std went for a science exhibition held at Sarvajana school on 28th December 2007. They went for three days. 28th , 29th and 30th . 72 matriculation schools and 42 government schools participated in that competition. There were more than 3000 students. The judgement was some how difficult. There were many projects about Global warming and Environmental science. They had taken a topic from Biological Science about Green gold replacing black gold with help of our Principal’s idea they had done this.more...
